In partnership of ICYF, the Summit was organized by the National Youth Council of Indonesia and OIC Youth Indonesia on 22-26 November 2019 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Summit provided platform for youth on decision-making processes, Muslim entrepreneurship, diplomacy, OIC youth strategy and activism. The Summit was designed in the format of Model OIC and Young Business Hub side event. The 1 st and 2 nd day of the event, multiple panels and workshops were held for participants on vital topics. Model OIC was presented to 120 youth both local and international. The Young Business Hub side event was attended by 500 local youth.

The Doha Islamic Youth Forum concluded yesterday, which was held as part of Doha the Islamic Youth Forum events. Youth delegations from 56 countries in the Muslim world participated, including 20 from the State of Qatar.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Sports, H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali and Islamic Conference Youth Forum’s new President Taha Ayhan, as well as a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants made a number of recommendations related to the Forum’s themes. They called for strengthening the fight against corruption within civil society institutions by conducting media campaigns in social media and establishing youth oversight bodies to promote a culture of integrity, transparency and combating corruption. They also called for establishing national and local youth-led observatories to promote transparency and integrity in the management of public affairs, as well as stressing the importance of supporting youth initiatives in the areas of good governance and transparency within youth institutions.  The participants also called for the establishment of training centres for the development of youth skills in the field of community-based youth initiatives, the establishment of a women’s association for the rehabilitation and training of women to participate in the management of public affairs, the launch of national consultations on the legislative framework for newly graduated youth and the entry into the labour market, as well as the establishment of follow-up committees to evaluate plans and strategies for youth initiatives.

Another recommendation made by the participants was to establish a social communication technology that integrates the digital platforms under the supervision of the United Nations, and is used to raise funds and support charitable and voluntary campaigns across the Islamic world and to develop awareness programs to rationalize the use of social media with the participation of specialists and media professionals; and develop training programs to educate on the values of citizenship and belonging and support social responsibility through Social networking platforms, support for gender equality and work to empower women in various fields on social networking networks.

Director of Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Culture and Sports Hussein Rashid Al Kubaisi praised the participants for the active role they played in enriching the forum. He noted that the event represented an opportunity for youth to get to share their views on different issues. It also helped promote a culture of good governance and transparency, he added.

The 1st National Model OIC Pakistan was held in Karachi Pakistan on 21-23 December 2018, which gathered around 250 delegates of local high schools and universities, as well as guests from Indonesia. The delegates were divided into 6 committees and simulated the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), Islamic Conference of Youth & Sports Ministers (ICYSM), Crisis Management, Islamic Summit, the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) and Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC).

The conference was aimed at bringing the Muslim youth closer to each other to understand their cultures, the mutual problems and proposed solution and formed committees on different areas.

Youth delegates from various Muslim counties attended the event. Abdullah Manafi Mutualo, Director General of Youth Policy at Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, said on this occasion that the youth of Muslim Ummah should come up and contribute its part to resolve the mutual issues.

Haroon Ahmad Khan who spoke as the chief guest said there is a huge gap between government and the youth. However, he hoped such programs and conferences would help government understand the real issues of youth. He urged the youth of Islamic counties to be more involved in such events to promote unity of the Muslim Ummah.

Honorary Consul General of Morocco Ishtiaq Baig, Consul General of Turkey Tolga Uçak and Consul General of Indonesia Mohammad Arifin, Abdul Manafi Mutualo and Project Coordinator Enes Öztoprak attended closing ceremony.

The 2nd International Model OIC for High Schools was co-organized by Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum and Beyoglu Education and Cultural Foundation under the theme of ”Reviving the Past and Building the Future in the Light of the History of Islamic Science”. The event was held over three days period, in which the 224 youth delegates representing 50 Member States of OIC debated the drafting of Resolutions in four (4) Standing Committees of OIC (Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers, Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs and Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation) as a representatives of OIC Member States, as well as Istanbul Declaration of the 2 nd High School Model OIC.

The firstever International Model OIC Summit for High School students was successfully organized by Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, Beyoglu Anatolian Imam Hatip High School and Beyoglu Education and Culture Foundation between 27-30 April 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey under the theme “Preserving international status and Islamic character of Al-Quds Al-Sharif”.

The simulation ran for 4 days, during which participants assumed roles as diplomats and representatives of OIC countries and researched these countries and practiced their policies. The official language of the simulation was Arabic.

In advance, delegates prepared position papers and resolutions, presented and debated them and adopted resolutions in the General Assembly.

170 high school students from 40 OIC Member States participated in the simulation.
